CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Dr. Ben Casavant is the Co-Founder and CEO of Tasso. With expertise spanning biomedical engineering, product design, and clinical research, Ben has focused his career on creating innovative technologies to improve human health. As CEO, Ben is responsible for leading Tasso and directing the company’s strategy. Under his leadership the company has grown from a lean startup into a leader in the patient-centric healthcare field, with coverage by Forbes, Fierce Medtech, Inc. Magazine, and more.

Ben holds an undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the author of over 27 publications and 25 patent applications.

CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Dr. Erwin Berthier is the Co-Founder and CTO of Tasso. An adept innovator, the technologies developed under his leadership at Tasso are empowering patients and clinicians to realize virtual care, perform frequent monitoring, and improve health outcomes. In addition to his role at Tasso, Erwin is also an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Erwin received a Diplôme Ingénieur in Fluid Mechanics from ENSTA (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Technologies Avancées) in Paris, an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the author of over 50 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and a co-author of the book “Open Microfluidics”.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Monica Williams is a strategic finance executive with over twenty years of experience in high-growth technology companies. Before joining Tasso as Chief Financial Officer, she held CFO roles at Tango, an innovative fintech company backed by private equity; Avvo, a venture capital-backed online legal marketplace; Allrecipes, the world’s leading digital food brand; and Pro.com, a real estate technology startup. In addition, she was Vice President of Financial Planning and Treasury at Zillow Group and held various financial leadership positions at Getty Images. She also serves as a board advisor to FlyHomes, a venture capital backed startup.

Monica has both an undergraduate degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington. She holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
