Lab Technician

Based in Seattle, WA

Tasso, Inc., is a Seattle based startup that is dedicated to revolutionizing blood sampling. Our aim is to simplify the blood testing process with a medical device that allows patients to collect their blood sample at home and mail it directly to the laboratory for analysis. We’re a young company that is looking to grow quickly in the next few years.

You will be supporting many key operations of a funded, high-growth startup. You will be responsible for performing biochemical and clinical assays of blood-based biomarkers. The work will be performed in close collaboration with a team of scientists and engineers to advance medical device prototypes through our development pipeline. As a startup, other tasks you will be expected to manage include processing 3D printed prototypes and assembling devices for testing. Your role is a critical one and what you learn about startups will be invaluable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process samples to isolate and quantify blood based biomarkers including protein, nucleic acid, and small molecule analytes. 

  • Organize data and draft experimental reports

  • Present data in internal group meetings

  • Assist in small volume prototyping, including 3D printing, casting, and molding

  • Assist with assembly for early stage prototypes

Preferred Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum B.S. in biology/chemistry/bioengineering or relevant college-level coursework and 1+ year laboratory experience. 

  • Experience with analyte measurement (ELISA, PCR)

  • Experience in a BSL-2 laboratory environment

  • General knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing processes is a plus
