General

  • The Tasso Button sticks to the skin with a light adhesive. When the button is pressed, a vacuum forms and a lancet pricks the surface of the skin. The vacuum draws blood out of the capillaries and into a compatible container attached to the bottom of the Tasso Button.

  • Some people refer to Tasso Devices as a needle-free system since it does not use a hollow venipuncture needle to enter a vein.

  • Tasso kits are available for purchase by healthcare providers, laboratories, clinical research organizations, and pharmaceutical companies. To receive a customized quote, please contact us.

Blood Collection

  • Each device is used one time to collect a sample and is then discarded.

  • Participants in clinical studies have reported lower levels of pain with the Tasso device compared to collecting blood with a finger stick or standard venipuncture procedure.

  • Tasso’s Instructions for Use and packaging are usable by people without any medical training or knowledge. The product has undergone extensive usability testing with naive participants who received no specific training.

  • Tasso devices are currently being used in pediatric research programs. The Tasso Mini is the recommended lancet. Visit our Pediatric Solutions page for more information.

  • Tasso devices should always be used in accordance with the guidelines established by the customer’s clinical or medical team. The Tasso-M20 should not be used on infant heels.

Sampling Kit

  • Dried blood samples are not considered biohazards and can be shipped without special packaging requirements.

    Tasso liquid sample packaging has been designed to meet Exempt Human Specimen requirements. Customers can add UN3373 labelling and meet the UN3373 requirements.

    Shipping over some international borders may require specific authorization.

  • In the United States the sampling kits can be shipped via standard first class United States Postal Service (USPS) service, or courier service.

  • If outbound shipping is desired the pre-addressed kit with a return label can be placed in a standard  mail bubble shipper envelope for outbound delivery.

Tasso+

  • The Tasso+ is a 510(k)-cleared Class II Lancet, is CE Marked, MHRA registered and Licensed with Health Canada.

  • The Tasso+ collects liquid samples of whole capillary blood.

  • Blood volume is dependent on the type of tube used but averages 200-600μL. Please refer to the tube specifications.

  • Refer to the Tasso+ kit brochure for the most up to date kit configurations available. Sample processing instructions will mirror tube manufacturer's labeling.

Tasso Mini

  • The Tasso Mini is a 510(k)-cleared Class II Lancet, is CE Marked, MHRA registered and Licensed with Health Canada.

  • The Tasso Mini collects liquid or dried samples of whole capillary blood, depending on the sample reservoir.

  • Blood volume is dependent on the type of reservoir used. Please refer to the reservoir specifications.

  • Select microtainers and cartridges are compatible, refer to the Tasso Mini kit brochure for the most up to date kit configurations available. Sample processing instructions will mirror reservoir manufacturer's labeling.

Tile-T20

  • The Tile-T20 is marketed as a class 1, 510(k) exempt medical device. In Europe, the Tile-T20 is marketed as a CE-IVDR Class A product.

  • The Tile-T20 collects dried samples of whole capillary blood.

  • The Tile-T20 collects 4 samples of 17.5μL each with a coefficient of variation (CV) of <5%.

  • Tasso has preferred laboratories ready to analyze samples immediately, or can help a customer’s preferred laboratory establish processes to analyze the samples.

  • The Tile-T20 is designed to collect, store and transport samples for analysis related to pharmacokinetic monitoring (PK) or therapeutic drug level monitoring (TDM). Laboratories have validated dried blood samples for drugs that are small molecules, proteins, antibodies or contain nucleic acids.

  • The Tile-T20 is compatible with both the Tasso Mini and Tasso+ lancets, however, it is recommended to use the T20 with the Tasso Mini. Tasso will not be releasing Tasso+ T20 Kits.
